Using Forums To Get BacklinksA forum is nothing more than a digital message board used for online discussion. They originated as the modern equivalent of a traditional bulletin board, coming a long way from the dialup bulletin board system. Back in the early days of the internet, forums were a great place to leave your backlinks and you could get away with it very easily. But as more and more people started exploiting this form of backlinking, the forum moderators started out on the offensive and banned anyone who dared to leave a link in the discussion. Others will tell you how great forums are, but with our experience, we have come to realize that they are a waste of time from a marketing or backlinking standpoint. Lots of forums require you to make at least 20 posts over a set amount of time before your signature actually becomes active (thats if they even allow a signature). With all the effort needed to get the forum to work in your favor, we have come to the conclusion that forums are an utter waste of time when it comes to backlinking.
